Favorite Fictional Presidents
Sat May 03, 2008 at 12:39:46 PM PDT
I am a big movie buff, and also I’m beyond tired of our real-life political melodrama, I figured what the hell, let’s pick the top fictional presidents of all time. Below are my particular picks.

From a BBC Press Release Link on BBC-America:

MARTIN SHEEN ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR OBAMA ON THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW
The Graham Norton Show episode with Martin Sheen, comedian Ed Byrne and musical guests Will.i.am and Cheryl Cole will premiere on Saturday, May 3, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on BBC AMERICA.
The Brit talk show kicks off its third season on BBC AMERICA this Saturday, April 26, 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with Tony Curtis, Kevin Bacon and musical guest Robyn. Graham Norton takes the audience and celebrity guests one step further than other talk shows dare and this season continues that tradition.
Tony looked terrible btw, but when he could remember, told a good story. Kevin was funny, especially when he got Graham to go find the YouTube video some guy made of him that started out nice but ended up with a stick figure of Kevin get it from behind from the guy who made the video. Very funny. Unfortunately, Youtube removed the video already otherwise I would include it).
Now back to the main event...
Martin Sheen announces support for Obama on the BBC
Thu Apr 24, 2008 at 02:42:58 PM PDT
Tonight on the BBC's Graham Norton Show Martin Sheen declared he was an Obama supporter.
After having some disparaging remarks about George W. Bush and commenting on the warm words that President Bill Clinton had for the West Wing he went on to declare his support for Obama. He also stated he felt a little sad that the two Democratic contenders were whacking away at each other.
Mr. Sheen was previously for Richardson and helped campaign for him.
I imagine there will be YouTube video soon but for those people in the UK they will be able to view again with the BBC's iPlayer.

"Dean and Me" Premiering in Minnesota on the 26th!
Wed Apr 16, 2008 at 12:15:59 PM PDT
Hi Gang:
It seems like years since I started blogging for Howard Dean and then filming one of the greatest grassroots movements in modern history. It started under the shadow of a thing called the "Iraq War."
Well, I guess it has been years--about six, in fact, since the idea came to mind in Stowe, Vermont.
Some ask, "Well, Howard Dean, who cares about him anymore? Who has the Hillary film, who's inside the Obama campaign? When the question could be, "Wow, what if Howard Dean didn't stand up in the first place and ask his fellow Democrats, WHAT I WANT TO KNOW...."
Howard Dean Movie Sneak Previews
Wed Jan 16, 2008 at 11:47:48 AM PDT
Hi, (please Rec) some of you may remember me popping up around here trying to get support to finish my film about Howard Dean and the movement that propelled his historic run for, as thereisnospoon puts it, "the soul of the Democratic Party."
Well, the film is pretty much done so here's a press release targeting Vermonters, or anyone who knows someone who can make these sneak previews. I sure could use the support at this point to keep this archive in our history alive. Please read on...
"DEAN AND ME: ROADSHOW OF AN AMERICAN PRIMARY"
In Vermont: Montpelier’s Savoy on Jan. 26 @ 11 a.m. and Burlington’s Roxy on Jan. 27 @ 11 a.m.
(Stowe, Vermont) Three years after Howard Dean’s revolutionary presidential campaign ended where it started in Burlington, Vermont, two sneak previews of a movie about the movement will be shown in Montpelier and Burlington on January 26 and 27 at 11 a.m. for a small donation ($10 or "whatever you think it’s worth at the end"). Bartlett for Richardson
Fri Dec 28, 2007 at 06:39:40 PM PDT
President Bartlett, aka Martin Sheen, has endorsed Gov. Bill Richardson for President, and will be campaigning for him in Iowa over the weekend.
Hopefully, this will get Richardson some additional exposure during these last few days, but how much do celebrity endorsements really help (any of the candidates)?
we need our own "New Face" can we draft Martin Sheen

I know this sounds way out there, I don't even know if he would want the real job after playing "the President" on West Wing for so many years. The last I heard he had gone to Great Britain to continue his college education.
I don't know if he could stand the cut in pay, and would he want his entire life, laid out to the world. It's hard enough being a television or movie personailty. But He has name recognition, he is showing his willingness to learn, by going back to college, and he went somewhere where he could concentrate on his work, rather than be mobbed by adoring fans, so he has excellent work ethics.
Sympathy for the Dennis
Wed Mar 28, 2007 at 11:02:23 AM PDT
The difference between the Republicans and me is that I am ultimately capable of being jolted back to reality.
Dennis Miller said that, twelve years ago next week. Wish I could still believe it.
I used to worship the guy. His political comedy throughout the eighties and nineties was (and still is) some of the sharpest and most unapologetically intelligent I've ever seen. The man is a walking encyclopedia; his freakish recall for names, facts, and events from every area of human knowledge is a spectacle all by itself. Go back and watch any rant from Dennis Miller Live, or even just the stuff he would improvise on the spot while interviewing a guest. Jesus, I even liked him on Monday Night Football. I know! Heresy, but there it is.
Ruminations... & a Rant

I'm in with the in crowd;
I go where the in crowd goes
I'm in with the in crowd --
and I know what the in crowd knows
Anytime of the year, don't you hear?
Dressing fine, making time
We breeze up and down the street,
We get respect from the people we meet
They make way day or night...

I know, I've been out of the loop for so fucking long, this is probably OLD news to you all, but I just ran across it on YouTube...
... and the gob of self-pity I've been carrying around for what seems like weeks got yanked out of me like a cute, freshly washed little black puppy from a bin full of mud-soaked little grey ones...
Tomas, Bree, and Me
Tue Feb 14, 2006 at 05:38:12 AM PDT
I didn't go to Crawford, but I feel like part of me was there. When Cindy was in Crawford I listened to the events on a radio show provided by Brad Friedman on his
BRAD SHOW. (That page also contains free downloads of mp3 files of special events recorded at Camp Casey.) One of the interviews was with a veteran. That veteran, Tomas is picture below with his new bride. Was delighted to get an update about Tomas and Bree recently. Tomas was in the
60 Minutes TV show this past weekend.

This picture is from the
AlaskaGyrl site. Alaskagyrl has
more pictures of Tomas up now.
